BETTA FISH TANK SETUP
First of all prepare the betta tank. Here we choose an acrylic tank with 4 litre water capacity, cat is for scale. In Indonesia we also use plastic jars to keep bettafish, the capacity is from 2 litre to 4 litre jars.
INDIAN ALMOND LEAVES/TERMINALIA CATAPPA LEAVES
Second, prepare the catappa leaves. Catappa leaves can provide tannin for the water which makes betta fish happy. For my betta tank I do not put one leaf into it, I just put one third of it.
SALT
Third, prepare some salt for the water. Salt is to prevent bacteria in the water, you just need small amount of salt for your tank.
DRIED BANANA LEAVES
Fourth, this one is optional, prepare a dried banana leaf. I usually put this banana leaf when I put the betta tank where it gets direct sunlight and some rain water splash. Dried banana leaves can help to stabilize the water temperature.
FILL WITH WATER
Fifth, fill the tank with water. In this case I did not fill the water to its maximum capacity because betta fish are a quite jumper. Before I put the water into the tank I usually precipitate the water in 1×24 hours just to make sure it’s good.
PUT THE BETTA FISH MEDICINE

Sixth, this one is also optional, put the bettafish medicine into the tank. This bettafish medicine help to prevents fungus and parasites.
PUT THE BETTA FISH IN
Last one, put the betta fish in. As you can see the catappa leaves make the water turns brown which is very good for betta fish.
As you know, when adopting a betta fish one is not enough, because betta fish loves to flare to each other. Here is my plastic jar with the same setup as the tank. But with this simple tank setup does the betta fish happy? Well let them talk with the picture below.
